Vaisakhi is one of the most significant dates in the Sikh calendar. Observed each year on or around 13 April, it marks two things of profound importance: the Sikh New Year, and the formation of the Khalsa in 1699, when Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the community of initiated Sikhs and gave it both identity and purpose.
